Interesting point of view.

Not here to defend Christianity. I’m Christian and I know that we are not perfect. Most times, how some of us convey the gospel turns people away instead of drawing them in.

Something similar happened in the Bible, where they had some new Christians who were not of Jewish origins. Some of the Jewish Christians wanted to instill the full measure of the law on the Gentile Christians (non-Jewish), including circumcision, while others believed it would be too harsh.

As far as thinking goes, I think for myself, I choose to follow Christian values as well as I can and I enjoy being a Christian.

Will I raise my children on this path? Yes, I would. It gives a balanced approach to life while holding a high moral standard. It also provides an eternal perspective to life, which is very important.

Every belief system is a choice. How we raise our children is a choice. But the truth is that as parents, no matter how open-minded we choose to raise our children, there are still some decisions they would make that would cause us to cringe inside, case in point, your daughter getting a bible. They may not be entirely wrong, but the decisions won’t sit well with you, which is possibly based on your own experience or choice of belief.

Everyone has a belief system, even the choice not to believe is a system in itself.

Sadly, Christianity has imperfect emissaries. However, if you go past the people and read the book itself, you’ll find that there’s a lot of good in there. You’ll find that there’s more love than what most Christians are incapable of delivering.
