He has no bone to pick with Jacob,
he sees nothing wrong with Israel.
God is with them,
and they’re with him, shouting praises to their King. Numbers 23:21 (MSG)

The Fallacy

“I wonder sometimes if Christians should be going through the things they go through. With all they say about how God protects them and is there for them, its puzzling when bad things happen in the life of a Christian.”

This usually is the bone of contention unbelievers have with Christians. I think the reason is that we present a version of God to them that doesn’t support the reality of how God really presents Himself in our lives. We find ourselves in a rough spot in life but we present a version of God to people which says we shouldn’t be having rough spots. Hmmm... small wonder why people are confused about our faith?

The way we’ve presented God gives the impression that we are precluded from the trials the world presents. But the reality of life is that it is a constant series of going through issues and breaking through them.

Immune through Forgiveness

Recently, I’ve spent some time studying Numbers 23, specifically the words of Balaam to Balak concerning Israel and it gives me reassurance about my daily life…
